The tapestry "design incorporates images of Kenneth Myer in varying stages of his life surrounded by a selection of images and text which describe a wide range of his interests and his extraordinary commitment to several public institutions, such as the Howard Florey Laboriatories of Experimental Physiology and Medicine, the School of Oriental Studies at the University of Melbourne, the Victorian Arts Centre, the National Library of Australia and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. All images are transposed onto a background which has been taken from a Japanese landscape painting which Kenneth Myer donated to the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
